The ingredients for a Friday night are usually a quick dinner, bar-hopping, drinks…more as the night continues, blaring music while you dance till your feet feel numb and illusions that shadow your mind leaving no traces of its existence the next morning.
Last night we tried some new ingredients. We sneaked in a bottle of wine with fancy wine glasses inside the Garden of Dreams. Surprisingly, the cozy corners were all empty. For the first time we had the liberty to choose a spot. As the only beings in this surreal paradise in Thamel, we took full advantage of the situation. Wine glasses clicked, voices grew louder and laughter almost reached the stars that filled the night sky. Secrets and stories swirled and escaped while trench coats faithfully clung to bodies in the freezing night.
As the night grew old, four pairs of staggering heels made their way towards Kaiser café. The pavilion built in the 1920s with its high ceiling and limited seating welcomed us in silence. Heels clicked and the dinning room slowly warmed up to its only four guests.
The Food…where do I begin and where do I end? It was a feast fit for an emperor both in quality and quantity. Taste buds met multiple foodgasms and reached new levels with each le plat. The night’s special trout, the beefsteak and the regular lasagna were all enticing and each bite was a pleasant surprise.
Closing time and we were not done. We were given a grace period of thirty minutes. Still not done. So we moved to the nearest place, Fire and Ice. After four cups of freshly brewed coffee and the night still felt young.
